Matthew B. Dernier has over 30 years of professional experience, including over 10 years of industrial experience in electrical engineering, and over 20 years of experience in all aspects of intellectual property law. 

Mr. Dernier holds a Juris Doctorate degree from Fordham University Law School, NY, NY (1998), a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering (1990) from Binghamton University, Binghamton, NY, and a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA (1987).

Prior to entering the profession of law, Mr. Dernier held positions of design engineer, circuit design engineer, systems engineer, project manager, and customer liaison in both mid-size companies and major aerospace companies.


Mr. Dernier chose night school during the vast majority of his 15 years of undergraduate and graduate studies, which enabled him to amass a great deal of experience in industry and the law before receiving his Juris Doctorate. It is this combination of industrial and legal experience that his clients find both rare and effective.
